GenuTax Standard - Program Help - File Menu

The File menu is used for working with GenuTax taxpayer files, and tax returns within those files. Click on each link for more detailed information.

The items in this menu are:

• New gives access to two menu items that allow you to create a new GenuTax taxpayer file, or a new tax return within a taxpayer file.
   
• Open gives access to two menu items that allow you to open a previously-created GenuTax taxpayer file, or a tax return within an already opened taxpayer file.
   
• Close closes the currently open taxpayer file.
   
• Save saves the currently open taxpayer file. You can also save the currently open taxpayer file by using the Ctrl + S keyboard shortcut (i.e. While holding the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard press "S").
   
• Save As saves the currently open taxpayer file under a name you specify.
   
• Page Setup allows you to change printer settings.
   
• Print Preview displays the printable forms for the open tax return.
   
• Print Return prints the open tax return.
   
• NETFILE gives brief instructions on using the Canada Revenue Agency's NETFILE electronic tax filing service.
   
• Password gives access to two menu items that allow you to protect a GenuTax taxpayer file with a password.
   
• Exit closes GenuTax Standard.
